Spring is just around the corner and I am in constant flood of messages and emails of parents who are scared and worried about their children’s education. In times of turmoil or chaos I always tell my own children, get low, down down down to your roots and move slowly. Start from the bottom. When I think of moving slowly I am reminded of my ancestors and those who walked this land before me. We may forget but education has changed multiple times in this country but what has stayed constant for our species is learning at home. Home should be grounding, supportive and as we move into this new paradigm I see many parents who have taken the plunge or wish to home/unschool. As a second generation homeschooler, I feel I have a steady blueprint of what a supportive education system can look like for parents and their children. Living in the south can prove difficult in finding groups that are not Christian centered. This spring we open up our farm to active homeschool/unschool and curious families to once again take our education back to truth and the real history of this land. Our vision supports parents and children ages 1-10 years old. We will do all our work outside and with one another as a sharing effort. Our farm is in Fayetteville , Georgia, and is accessible to all needs as all minds and bodies are welcome. ( wheelchair accessible) This is a radical act, as all acts of collaboration with community are. We will be meeting the first Friday of every month starting March 7 , 2-6pm.
